Z-Lounge Cafe

Z-Lounge is a cozy hangout space with a rustic coastal ambiance. A blue entryway with brightly lit signage leads to a music-filled stronghold for youngsters. The blue and white color scheme with dim lighting gives a relaxing back feel.

The central wavy ceiling steals the show, creating depths to stare at. It is made in MDF, and fins are painted in shades from blue to white generating the rhythmic effect of sea waves. The remaining ceiling is dimly lit with DIY plastic basket lights. During the day the light seeps in through patterned colored glass windows. Quirky posters and collectibles hang on lime-plastered walls.

The design team was involved in the sourcing and production of many things. Everyone got their hands dirty, be it painting furniture making lights, terrariums or searching local market for fishing hooks all was done with intoxicating enthusiasm. It was a fun and learning exercise that resulted in completing the work in a month.
